Samuel Dudley powder horn. Dated 1777. Inscribed SAMUEL DUDLY HIS HORN MADE AT WARWICK DECM ye 26 1777. Has figures of Indian? shooting bird with arrow, unicorn, misc. animals and two men with raised swords and the motto, "TRY IT OUT". This horn is attributed to Jacob Gay (Guay). The general style and dueling swordsmen are typical of Gay's work. The diamond band at spout end is from another hand but very old and likely of the same period.
